MANILA, Philippines —  Quezon City’s Pride March will be held on June 27 at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, LGBTQ rights group Pride PH said yesterday.

Positive reactions to the venue point to the growing number of attendees “while maintaining the safety and spirit of Pride,” Pride PH convenor Vince Liban told The STAR.

Small and medium enterprises owned by members of the LGBTQ community will be featured at QueerCon, while allied groups, state partners and sponsors can join the Pride Expo.

Pride PH is providing financial support to Pride celebrations outside Metro Manila.

Aside from calling for legislative measures supporting the LGBTQ community, Liban said the group will push for an end to the Middle East war.

“UP has historically been a site where marginalized voices are heard. By holding the march here, we emphasize that the fight for equality is an academic, social and political pursuit,” said Angel Romero, another convenor.

Organized at the Quezon Memorial Circle in 2023 and 2024, the march will be held at the UP Diliman for the second year in a row.
