MANILA, Philippines — Lotto and other digit games are suspended today until Saturday in observance of Holy Week, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said yesterday.

The PCSO, in a public advisory yesterday, said selling of lotto tickets and holding of draws will resume on Sunday.

The PCSO is promoting the lotto and digit games to raise more revenues for its Medical Assistance Program and the government’s Universal Health Care program.

Under Republic Act 1223, the PCSO is mandated to allocate 40 percent of its earnings for the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law.
