2 bodies found in torched car

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines — Two charred bodies were found in a vehicle torched by unidentified men in Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija on Monday.

The fatalities, a man and a woman, were discovered in a Toyota Wigo with license plate DAR 7847, according to Col. Heryl Bruno, Nueva Ecija police director.

Bruno said the local police received a call from a resident at around 10:40 a.m. about a burning motor vehicle in Barangay Sinasajan.

Probers have yet to review video footage of a closed-circuit television camera to identify people behind the incident.
