Quake rocks Davao town

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the town of Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental yesterday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 10:56 a.m., with its epicenter located 231 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos.
The temblor was not expected to cause damage to property, but may generate aftershocks, Phivolcs said.
