COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Police seized P2.6 million worth of dried marijuana from an 18-year-old student in Barangay 76-A, Davao City, before dawn on Saturday, September 6.

Officials from the Davao City Police Office and Police Regional Office-11 (PRO-11) said the suspect is now in detention and will be prosecuted for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The male student was arrested by combined units from PRO-11 after allegedly selling compressed dried marijuana to undercover operatives in his hideout.

Authorities confiscated marijuana in 10 ziplocked plastic packs, with an estimated value of P2.6 million.

Radio reports in Cotabato City on Saturday morning quoted PRO-11 officials saying the successful entrapment operation was based on tips from confidential informants who were aware of the suspect’s large-scale marijuana trafficking in Davao City.
