MANILA, Philippines — A police commando allegedly shot dead his colleague following a quarrel over drying the laundry in Sipocot, Camarines Sur yesterday morning.

Pat. Rodel Abelido, 31, died while being taken to a hospital, according to Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, Bicol police director.

Dizon said the shooting occurred at the camp of the Special Action Force in Barangay Tara at around 7:30 a.m.

Reports said Pat. Jhonel Idos, 31, prevented Abelido from drying his laundry in the toilet.

Irked, Abelido punched Idos, who reportedly retaliated by drawing a gun and shooting the victim.

Idos has been placed under restrictive custody while investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Ilocos Norte, the chief of the Pasuquin police and his three men have been relieved from their posts for allegedly hitting a civilian.

The relief of Maj. Jonevale Maramag and his men was intended to prevent them from influencing the result of the investigation into the incident that occurred at the police station over the weekend, according to Col. Frederick Obar, Ilocos Norte police director.

Video footage of a closed-circuit television camera showed the officers slapping and yelling at the civilian who was reportedly seeking police assistance.
