32 suspects nabbed in Metro Manila drug stings

MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-two people were apprehended in Metro Manila during heightened anti-narcotics operations conducted by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) over the weekend.

In a report, the NCRPO said the arrests resulted from 21 drug stings carried out in the region from April 6 to 7.

Of the 32 arrests, 10 were launched by the Northern Police District, nine by the Southern Police District, eight by the Manila Police District, three by the Quezon City Police District and two by the Eastern Police District.

Police data showed that over 42 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P329,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the intensified anti-narcotics operations aim to dismantle drug rings in Metro Manila.
