Negros Occidental dengue cases decreasing
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Dengue cases in Negros Occidental including the capital city Bacolod are on a downward trend, although 10 deaths have been recorded as of Sept. 30.
The provincial health office (PHO) said that from January to September this year, dengue cases went down to 1,158 from 4,431 during the same period in 2022.
The figures indicated a 79.80-percent decrease in dengue cases.
The PHO said it recorded seven deaths this year.
Among areas with confirmed infections, San Carlos City registered the most number of dengue cases with 153.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City health office recorded three dengue-related deaths involving minors in the villages of Mansilingan, Tangub and Villamonte.
The number of cases also declined from 817 last year to 403, with the most affected age group being from one to 10 years, the city health office said.
