Cop, 2 civilians stabbed to death in Negros

Bacolod City, Philippines — A policeman and two civilians were killed while two other law enforcers were wounded in a stabbing incident in Murcia, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Cpl. Gabby Castillo was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city.

Benedict Maguad and Marvin Guardavilla died while being treated in the same hospital.

Initial investigation showed Castillo and his companions S/Sgts. Namelou Sapuan and Jaytie Misme, all wearing civilian clothes, were in a restobar in Barangay Salvacion when they responded to a commotion involving Guardavilla and Marjune Gallano.

Gallano reportedly stabbed the policemen when they tried to intervene.

The owner of the restobar, Fernando Diaz, was also wounded in the incident.
