DOH cites Pasig’s programs
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has recognized Pasig City for its disease prevention and healthcare programs for its constituents.
Mayor Vico Sotto said yesterday the local government received three awards from the DOH Metro Manila Center for Health Development.
The city was recognized for having the best sanitation and anti-dengue programs.
Sotto said they also received recognition for their efforts on universal healthcare.
“All credit goes to our very hard-working city health department, sanitation office, anti-dengue task force and other offices that have contributed to these programs,” he said in Facebook post.
Sotto submitted to city council, headed by Vice Mayor Robert Jaworski Jr., on Thursday the local government’s proposed budget of P15 billion for 2023, which is higher compared with P12.7 billion for this year.
Sotto did not give details but he said the bulk of the budget would be used for various healthcare programs, followed by education.
He explained they prioritized healthcare as the education sector is being supported by the budget from the Department of Education.
