Kidnapped Chinese woman rescued

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A Chinese woman, said to be a victim of kidnapping by two Chinese and a Filipino was rescued in Batangas on Thursday.

The victim, whose name was withheld, is a native of Shanghai. She was reportedly abducted at a bar in Angeles City, Pampanga on Sept. 17.

She told police her captors placed her in a dog cage for 20 days.

The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group confirmed that the kidnappers sought ransom worth $200,000.

A video was reportedly sent to the boyfriend of the victim, who received the ransom demand, showing her being hit by a baseball bat.
