More raps filed vs detained Abu sub-leader
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A sub-leader of Abu Sayyaf bandits detained at the Sulu provincial jail in connection with the kidnapping and beheading of their captives is facing more charges.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group served the additional warrants for Mujir Ahhadi Yada at his detention cell on Tuesday, Col. John Francis Encinareal, CIDG-Zamboanga peninsula director, said.
“The subject has warrants for multiple murder, multiple frustrated murder and illegal possession of explosives used in the commission of the crime,” Encinareal said.
Yada, his brother Ben Ahaddi Quirino and three other Abu Sayyaf bandits surrendered on June 18.
The siblings were tagged in the beheading of Canadian citizens Robert Hall and John Ridsdel, who were taken with a Norwegian and a Filipina on Samal Island in 2015.
