CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A week after assuming the post as chief of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) police, Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez implemented a reshuffle affecting three provincial police directors and 24 officials.

Batangas police director Col. Glicerio Cansilao and Laguna police chief Col. Cecilio Ison were replaced by Cols. Pedro Soliba and Randy Glenn Silvio, respectively.

Cavite police director Arnold Abad was replaced by Lt. Col. Pablito Naganap.

Cansilao was named chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) directorial staff in Bicol.

Ison was placed on floating status while Abad was transferred to the Police National Training Institute, holding an administrative post.

Meanwhile, the chiefs of police of Cavite City, General Trias and Tanza in Cavite as well as Biñan, Laguna were among the 24 officials removed from their posts.

The four officials were transferred to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Section Unit. They were replaced by their deputy chiefs, who were designated officers-in-charge until permanents replacements are named to the posts.

Three officials assigned at the Command Staff were also replaced due to their schooling schedules and transfer to other regions.

Four more police officers will be replaced in the next reshuffle this October.

Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez was reportedly saddened by the relief of Ison as he reportedly found the police official efficient and dedicated.

PNP chief Gen Rodolfo Asurin Jr. reportedly declined Hernandez’s request to reinstate Ison as Laguna police director.
