P6.8 million shabu seized in Tawi-Tawi
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents, security forces and a drug-sniffing dog of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) seized a kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday.
Rogelito Daculla of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said Nurhamin Nurhussin, 27, and Hosna Rahim, 38, were arrested for possession of the illegal drugs stashed in a pack of a Chinese tea pack.
The PCG said its working dog James detected the presence of shabu in the plastic bag which contained the tea bags.
PDEA and local police said an investigation is underway to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
A PCG working dog also detected shabu worth P3.4 million in a parcel intercepted at the Zamboanga International Airport on Monday. – John Unson, Robertzon Ramirez
