ACG to sue owner of accounts with pedophilia content

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) vowed to unmask and file charges against the person behind the YouTube Channel and Facebook Page “Usapang Diskarte” which posted malicious and pedophila content online.

ACG director Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding said yesterday they will file appropriate charges against the owner of the social media accounts.

Usapang Diskarte went viral after it was discovered to be showing sexual content, including tips on grooming and luring minors into committing sexual acts.

Masauding said they have filed a warrant to disclose computer data at the Manila Regional Trial Court after gaining enough evidence in the course of their probe.

He expressed confidence the person behind the social media accounts will be uncovered.

“From there, the person behind this immoral act must stand ready to confront numerous criminal violations of the law,” he said in a statement.

ACG spokesperson Lt. Michelle Sabino said they have been tracking down the individual behind Usapang Diskarte for several months, but their investigation was scuttled after the issue went viral on social media. As a result, the social media accounts were deactivated.

“It takes time kasi kailangan kumagat siya sa bait. So you have to understand, kailangan ini-engage. Kaya lang naging viral na siya,” Sabino said in an interview aired over GMA News on Thursday.
