2 drown in Bataan beach resort

MORONG, Bataan, Philippines — Two persons drowned while swimming in a resort in Barangay Sabang in this town on Tuesday.

Reports reaching the office of Col. Rommel Velasco, Bataan police chief, identified the victims as businessman Jorge Pangilinan, 59, and his driver Ricky Geronimo, 49, both residents of Barangay Nagbalon in Marilao, Bulacan.

Police said the two were swept away by the strong current while swimming around 20 to 30 meters from the shoreline.

The victims were declared dead on arrival at the Morong Rural Health Center.
