PMA welcomes visitors again

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — After a two-year lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City started accepting visitors again on Thursday.

“The opening of PMA to tourists and cadets’ visitors aims to allow the public to see the different tourist spots inside PMA, appreciate its history and its role in producing future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” the PMA said in an advisory. ”It also boosts the welfare and morale of the cadets, seeing and being able to interact with their families and loved ones.”

The PMA said a maximum of 300 people, who can visit from 8:30 a.m.to 3 p.m., would be allowed to enter the military academy per day.

Fully vaccinated tourists are required to present their vaccination card. The unvaccinated or those who only had their first dose should present a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Aside from abiding by camp regulations, visitors should observe minimum health protocols.

All tourists and guests shall likewise comply with the travel requirements of the Baguio city government, such as online registration through visita.baguio.gov.ph.
