P61 million shabu seized in Taguig
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers confiscated around nine kilos of shabu valued at P61.2 million in Taguig City on Monday night.
John Andree Santos, 22; Christian Ely Desiderio, 19, and Jericho Torres, 19, were arrested by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) in Barangay Sta. Ana at around 9:30 p.m.
DEG director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said the suspects allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
In Quezon City, one of the most wanted drug suspects was apprehended yesterday in Barangay Bagumbayan.
Mark Gregory Mendoza, 36, listed as the No. 1 drug target of the Eastwood police station 12, was initially accosted for smoking and not wearing a face mask.
Mendoza reportedly tried to escape. He was captured after a brief chase.
Police said they recovered from the suspect at least two grams of shabu worth P13,600.
