Neil Jayson Servallos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — One of Metro Manila’s high-value drug suspects was arrested in Pasig City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported yesterday.

Ambrocio de la Cruz, 54, who is No. 5 on the drug watchlist of the NCRPO, was apprehended by members of the Eastern Police District (EPD) during a sting in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on Monday.

Police said they recovered from the suspect about 15.8 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P107,440.

“I commend the efforts of the EPD for the suspect’s arrest. This affirms our commitment to uphold the PNP’s mandate of curbing the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region,” NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said in a statement.

The suspect is being held at the Pasig City police detention facility on charges of drug trafficking.
