Woman nabbed for P13.9 million shabu

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested for allegedly carrying 2.05 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in a sting in Barangay Longos, Malabon on Friday night.

The shabu, placed in Chinese tea bags and with a street value of P13.9 million, was found in the possession of Herssie Ogoy, 23, during the sting at around 11 p.m., according to National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr.

The sting stemmed from information provided by Alejando Blancaflor, 46, a construction worker who was caught in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Dampalit at around 6:20 p.m.

Blancaflor admitted under interrogation that Ogoy was his source of illegal drugs, Danao said.

Ogoy, placed under arrest after she allegedly sold P50,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer, is being held on charges of drug trafficking.

In Makati, Ronilo Andaya, 53, was arrested in another sting in Barangay East Rembo on Friday night.

Police seized around 200 grams of shabu valued at P1.36 million from him.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said Andaya was apprehended after a policeman posing as a drug buyer reportedly purchased P44,000 worth of shabu from the suspect.

In Pasig, John Rey dela Cruz, 20, who is on the Eastern Police District’s drug watchlist, was arrested after he was allegedly caught with around 25.5 grams of shabu with a street value of P173,400 in Barangay Pinagbuhatan at around 10 p.m. on Friday. – Ghio Ong
