Man shoots self after killing wife, 2 kids
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A 59-year-old businessman allegedly killed his partner and their two children before shooting himself in Barangay 4 in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Mary Rose Egca, 24, one-year-old Ruth Ester and seven-month-old Job David were shot in the head and pronounced dead on arrival at the Himamaylan City District Hospital, Lt. Col. Romeo Vargas, city police chief, said.
Vargas said the suspect, Raymundo Diaz, shot himself using a .38-caliber pistol. Diaz died while being treated at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center.
Initial investigation showed that prior to the incident, the couple had a heated argument.
A helper of the couple said she sought the help of neighbors when she heard four gunshots from the room of the couple.
Diaz was reportedly suffering from depression.
