22 more cops get COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police recorded 22 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing to 9,241 the total number of PNP personnel who have contracted the disease.

PNP records showed that most of the fresh infections came from the police regional offices, with Metro Manila and Bangsamoro recording six each.

The rest of the cases were from Davao with three, Central Visayas with two and one each from Central Luzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga and Cordillera. The national administrative support unit posted one case.

The PNP said total recoveries rose to 8,897 after 36 more police personnel survived the disease. The number of deaths remained at 87. At least 316 police officers are undergoing treatment or quarantine.
