84 drug suspects arrested in Cavite
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Eighty-four drug suspects, including three minors, have been arrested in various anti-illegal drug operations in Cavite.
Col. Marlon Santos, Cavite police director, said 36 suspects, including three minors, were nabbed for possession of shabu and 48 were caught selling drugs.
Seized during the anti-drug operations conducted yesterday and Thursday were 147.71 grams of shabu worth P1,004,428 and 2.13 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
Santos said 38 other wanted persons who were facing various criminal charges were also arrested.
The minors were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Santos said the operations were part of the security preparations to ensure the safety of local and foreign athletes participating in the 30th Southeast Asian Games with events in Southern Tagalog.
