MANILA, Philippines — An Indian moneylender was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants as he was collecting debt payments in Caloocan.

Gurpreet Singh, 34, was with his wife Sonia Rani when he was shot after two assailants held him up and forcibly took the keys of his motorcycle Thursday.

Singh was shot after he reportedly resisted the suspects. The backrider, who was wearing a cap, acted as the gunman.

The suspects fled with the victim’s Honda Beat motorcycle.

Police recovered five fired cartridge cases and two fired bullet cases of a still unknown firearm.
