LIST: Road closure, alternative routes in Taguig for 2nd day of Xi's state visit
MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority has issued traffic scheme for the second day of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit.
In its advisory, the traffic authority said roads will be closed in Taguig City, where Xi temporarily stays.
Xi is staying at the Shang-rila The Fort, Bonifacio Global City where he is expected to hold some of his official activities.
The Chinese leader is also set to depart Manila on Wednesday afternoon.
This prompted road closures in the areas of BGC. On the other hand, classes and government work in Western Bicutan, Fort Bonifacio, and Pinagsama, Taguig City were also suspended due to the state visit.
Here’s a list of roads closed and alternative routes for November 21, Wednesday:
Roads closed
- 3rd Avenue between 28th Street to 30th Street between 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue
- Half road of 5th Avenue adjacent to Shangri-La between 28th Street to 30th Street Segment of 4th Avenue
Alternative routes
- Vehicles passing along 3rd Avenue going to 32nd Street may turn left at 28th Street, right at Rizal Drive, right at 30th Street, then left at 3rd Avenue.
- Motorists may also turn right at 28th street coming from 3rd Avenue, then left at 5th Avenue
- Vehicles coming from 30th Street going to 2nd Avenue shall turn right at 5th Avenue, then left at 32nd Street, then left at Rizal Drive then right at 31st Street
- Vehicles along Rizal Drive going to Bonifacio High Street may take a u-turn on or before 26th Street, turn right at 27th Street, left at 4th Avenue, then right at 28th Street
Motorists heading to BGC, Taguig may take the following routes:
- From SLEX: Pass C5
- From Makati: Take EDSA, Kalayaan Ave.
- From NAIA: Take EDSA, Kalayaan Ave.
- For NAIA-bound motorists coming from BGC, take Kalayaan Avenue, EDSA, Tramo
