Transport leader in Malabon shot dead

MANILA, Philippines — A leader of a jeepney drivers’ group was gunned down in Malabon City Friday night.

Jerry Adolfo, president of the Sangandaan-Panghulo-Polo Toda, was shot in the head by a still unidentified assailant while he was driving his jeepney in Barangay Tinajeros Friday night.

The assailant and his two companions posed as passengers and sat behind the driver’s seat, police said.

Adolfo’s fellow jeepney drivers described him as a kind man who did not have enemies and vices.

Jeepney drivers Gary Origenes and Mario Mondoy both said Adolfo was the fifth transport group leader killed in Malabon.
