TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines — President Duterte will lead today the destruction of smuggled luxury cars seized at Port Irene in Sta. Ana town in this province.

Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) administrator Raul Lambino said 14 of the 847 impounded vehicles would be destroyed in Barangay Casambalangan.

The vehicles include four big bikes, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Mercedes Benzes and an Aston Martin.

Duterte announced last week that he would buy a bulldozer to destroy luxury cars stored in a warehouse at Port Irene.

Some importers appealed to authorities to give them time to prove that their vehicles have permits issued by the former CEZA administration.

The President had earlier led the destruction of smuggled luxury vehicles seized in Cebu and Davao, saying smugglers should not benefit from the auction of the vehicles. ?
