Mindoro barangay plebiscite set

MANILA, Philippines —  A plebiscite on the creation of Barangay Naibuan out of Barangay Batasan in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro is set on Jan. 5, 2018. 

Under Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution 10223, Sitios Lagnas, Naibuan, Ibanag, Hobkob, Abong, Malumak, Kianay, Libertad, Lowaliw, Ilya, Yabat, Salidang, Upper Koywan, Dayaga and Timbangan will comprise the new barangay.

The Comelec set the plebiscite period from Dec. 26 to Jan. 10 and campaign period from Dec. 26 to Jan. 3.

The poll body said bearing, carrying and transporting of firearms and other deadly weapons in public places conveyances is prohibited during the plebiscite period. 

The polling precincts will open from 7 a.m.  to 3 p.m.
