CAMP VICENTE LIM, Philippines – Six inmates escaped from the San Pedro police jail yesterday morning.

Manhunt operations for Benjo Lopena, Mark Joseph Varias, Jordan Mahusay, Ed Niño Lozada, Rey Erenia and Arvin Lizarda, who are facing charges for illegal drugs, are underway.

Senior Superintendent Cecilio Ison, Laguna police director, said the inmates escaped at around 4:30 a.m. by cutting the iron grills of their cell.

Superintendent Harold Depositor, San Pedro police chief, jail guard Police Officer 2 Jovencio Piodo, and duty desk officer PO3 Crisman Manabat face relief if the escapees would not be recaptured within 24 hours, according to Chief Superintendent MaO Aplasca, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police director.
