5 killed in Bulacan  drug war

MANILA, Philippines -  Five suspected drug pushers were killed in alleged shootouts with anti-drug operatives in Bulacan in the past two days. 

Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting director, identified the fatalities as Roy Bundalian, 48, alias Roy, a resident of Barangay Bancal; Ronaldo San Martin, 46, of Togatog in Meycauyan town; Jay Agustin, alias Adore, and Ariel Obehero, residents of Coral na Bato, San Rafael, and Celso Rodriguez of Lolomboy, Bocaue.

Caramat said the fatalities, who were known drug pushers in their barangays, yielded 30 sachets of shabu, guns and ammunition.

He said the suspects drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents.

Rolando Cerdeñola, 48, a businessman in Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya, was among those arrested in anti-drug operations on Tuesday. The suspect is ranked fifth on the drug watchlist of Nueva Vizcaya.

Police Officer 1 Fernan Manimbo of the Teresa, Rizal police station was arrested for allegedly selling 20 sachets of shabu to a certain Jojo Daniel at around 1 a.m. Manimbo and Daniel are “high-value” drug suspects, police said.

Ernesto Estabillo, 36, and Mede Catindoy, 31, were collared in stings in Barangay Centro, Claveria, and Dummun, Gattaran, respectively.

Jose Besenio, 42, was arrested after a raid on his house in Barangay North Villazar, Sipocot, Camarines Sur yesterday yielded sachets of shabu, guns and ammunition. The raid was based on a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Cecilia  Borja.

Jerwin Tribiana, 26, was nabbed in Barangay San Pascual, Tinambac also in  Camarines Sur yesterday.

3 dead in shootings

Meanwhile, police are still investigating the motives for gun attacks that killed three persons on Tuesday.

Police Officer 3 Rustin Agustin of the Regional Police Holding Action Unit in Calamba, Laguna had just attended a court hearing when he was shot in Sitio Huwaran, Barangay Pagsawitan in Sta. Cruz town at around 4:45 p.m.

Lorna Polindan, 64, a resident of Barangay Cupang Proper, Balanga, Bataan, was in a tricycle when she was fired at.   

Nenita de Guzman, 61, was tending to her store when a man who pretended to be a customer shot her in the head. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Raymund Catindig, Ric Sapnu, Eva Visperas, Ed Amoroso, Emmanuel Tupas, Francis Elevado
