NPA frees 2 militiamen

The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The New People’s Army (NPA) yesterday released two militiamen in Davao Oriental.

Rene Doller and Mark Nocus of the 72nd Infantry Battalion were picked up by provincial board member Louie Rabat, who was among those who negotiated for their release, in a remote village in Mati City.

NPA rebels took Doller and Nocus in Barangay Don Mariano in Lupon on Feb. 14.

The militiamen said the rebels did not hurt them while in captivity.
