5 slain in Calabarzon shootings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines  – Five persons were killed in separate gun attacks in Cavite, Batangas and Rizal on Saturday.

Resort owner Jose Yap was shot dead as he was checking the swimming pool in Bacoor, Cavite.

Police said the lone assailant barged into Yap’s property at around 5 a.m.        

In Batangas, motorcycle-riding men shot dead Julieta Espinile and Ermilito Coliat in separate incidents in Alitagtag town and Batangas City, respectively.

Coliat was walking in Barangay Soro-soro when a lone assailant shot him at past 10 p.m.

Earlier in the day, Espinile, 60, was standing in front of her residence in Barangay Concepcion when she was killed.

An hour later, a dead body was found at a sugarcane plantation in Barangay Luntal in the nearby town of Tuy.

Meanwhile, in Rizal, Saeed Sacro and Jonathan Roxas, were walking in Antipolo City and Taytay, respectively when they were killed by unidentified men.
