Reward up for arrest of councilor’s killers

ALAMINOS CITY, Philippines – A P500,000 reward is being offered for information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the killing of a councilor in this city in Barangay Bued on Wednesday night.

Mayor Arthur Celeste offered the reward, saying the killing of Salvador Camba, 56, an ex-officio member of the city council as president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, raised fear among residents.

Superintendent Benjamin Ariola, Alaminos police chief, said a task force was formed to investigate the attack.

Camba had just arrived home after visiting his piggery when unidentified men shot him. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital.

Probers said prior to the incident, Camba received death threats.
