Blackout to hit La Union
Vic Alhambra (The Philippine Star) - January 21, 2016 - 9:00am

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines – Parts of La Union will experience a power outage tomorrow.

The towns of Bauang and San Juan and San Fernando City will have no power from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines announced yesterday.

Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP-North Luzon communications and public affairs officer, said the blackout would pave the way for the annual preventive maintenance and testing of the 50-megavolt ampere transformer at the Bauang substation.

Gaydowen said there would also be maintenance work along the Bauang-San Fernando 115-kiloVolt line and the Bauang-San Fernando 69-kV line.
