8 RDCs support anti-graft drive

MANILA, Philippines – Eight regional development councils (RDCs) are now supporting the government’s anti-corruption campaign, the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC) said.

This developed after the PAGC conducted briefings for 15 RDCs on the Integrity Development Action Plan (IDAP), the national anti-corruption framework for the executive branch.

“Eight of the 15 RDCs have already forged their respective resolutions supporting the IDAP and are now in various stages of its adoption and implementation,” said PAGC chief Secretary Constancia de Guzman.

“The PAGC aims to implement the IDAP, not only in the NGAs (national government agencies), but also in the LGUs (local government units) and the RLAs (regional line agencies) that constitute the RDCs,” De Guzman added.

The eight RDCs cover Regions 2 (Cagayan Valley), 4-A (Calabarzon), 4-B (Mimaropa), 5 (Bicol), 6 (Western Visayas), 7 (Central Visayas), 8 (Eastern Visayas), and 12 (Socsksargen).

The IDAP, anchored on Chapter 21 of the government’s Medium Term Philippine Development Plan, embodies the multi-pronged strategy involving 22 specific and doable measures under four major areas of implementation – graft prevention, education, deterrence (investigation and enforcement), and strategic partnership (multi-sectoral involvement).
