Garci's retirement stalled

Former Commission on Election commissioner Virgilio Garcilliano has already retired in Bukidnon but he cannot collect his retirement benefits until the Hello Garci issue is resolved.

James Jimenez, Comelec spokesman told reporters during the weekly Balitaan sa Rembrandt Hotel in Quezon City that the Commission en banc has come up with a resolution, which deferred the processing o the retirement benefits of the former commissioner.

Jimenez however clarified that the former commissioner is not facing any charges while the investigation is ongoing by the poll body.

Lawyer Ed Tamondong, the counsel for Garcilliano said that the issues have long been resolved.

"I don't know what he (Jimenez) is talking about because there is no unresolved Garci tape and all the cases filed against him have been thrown out," Tamondong said. Percy Echeminada
