P15.6-M halaga ng shabung ipinalaman sa damit, tela bistado ng Customs

MANILA, Philippines — Milyung-milyong halaga ng iligal na droga ang nasabat ng mga otoridad ngayong araw matapos mainspeksyon ang ilang kargamentong nanggaling sa kalapit na bansa.

Martes nang makumpiska ng Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) ang nasa 2,300 gramo ng shabu na isinilid sa dalawang shipments na ibinaba sa isang Fedex warehouse. Sinasabing nagkakahalaga ito ng P15.64 milyon.

Ikinasa ang naturang operasyon sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA IADITG) sa BOC.

"The two (2) shipments were imported from Malaysia and declared as ‘Clothing’ and ‘Cloth’, respectively," ayon sa pahayag ng BOC kanina.

"However, upon 100% physical examination,  the subject shipments were found to contain white crystalline substances concealed in clothes and cloths, which were subsequently tested and verified by PDEA as methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as Shabu."

Agad namang inilagay sa pangangalaga ng PDEA ang mga nakuhang narcotics para sa case profiling at build up laban sa mga responsableng tao.

Ang mga nabanggit ay posibleng humarap kaso ng paglabag laban sa Republic Act 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002 kaugnay ng "restricted importation" at "unlawful importation" sa ilalim ng Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

"The Port of NAIA under the guidance of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, remains committed in securing the country’s borders and prevent the entry of illegal drugs," patuloy ng BOC.

Anim na araw pa lang ang nakalilipas nang i-turn over sa PDEA ng Port of NAIA ang nasa P6.57 milyong halaga ng ecstacy.
