2 held for drugs in QC

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested two men for allegedly carrying illegal drugs and paraphernalia in separate operations Tuesday.

Mark Dimaranan, 27, was nabbed by elements of the QCPD Station 2 along Tandang Sora Avenue in Barangay Culiat at around 3 a.m.

Police confiscated a strip of aluminum foil with traces of suspected shabu and a lighter from the suspect after he was flagged down for driving a motorcycle without wearing a helmet.

Meanwhile, Rodolfo Castillo, 57, was apprehended by operatives of the QCPD Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group in Barangay Gulod at about 11:30 p.m.

Case investigator PO1 Erwin Bautista said Castillo yielded a sachet of suspected illegal drugs.

Dimaranan and Castillo are facing charges for violating the anti-drugs law.
