Teen dead, brother hurt in Quezon City stabbing

MANILA, Philippines - Police are looking for two still unidentified suspects who stabbed dead a 17-year-old boy and wounded his elder brother in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Senior Police Officer 2 Jun Mortel said Christian Ponte and his brother, Ronjay, 23, a mall merchandiser, were attacked at 2:45 a.m. as they were walking along Litex Road with two cousins after drinking at a bar.

The Pontes and their cousins tried to run away, but their attackers caught up with them and stabbed the brothers. Mortel said probers have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.

Christian died at the Fairview General Hospital while Ronjay remains confined at the East Avenue Medical Center for two stab wounds in the back. – Michael Punongbayan
