Loan company loses payroll money in break-in

A credit company lost over P100,000 in cash intended for employees’ salary and 13th month pay to robbers who broke into their Ortigas Center, Pasig, office.

Police said the robbery happened inside the First Nation’s Credit Corp. located at 1407-B East Tower, Philippine Stock Exchange Building, Exchange Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig.

Reports said the incident was discovered at 10 p.m. the other night by security guard Allan Dinoy when he found the office door forced open.

A check later by the management found that P130,000 in cash intended for the employees’ salaries and the 13th month pay were missing.

Aside from that, P20,000 of the company chairman and president’s own money, about P18,000 in petty cash and another P6,700 in cash were also missing.

Police investigators suspect that the robbers forced the door open with the use only of a screw driver. — Sandy Araneta
