CEBU, Philippines -  A polio victim fell into the hands of the police after he sold a small pack of shabu to a police decoy last Monday afternoon in Sitio Buaya, Lapu-lapu City.

Robert Magkilat,36, with live-in partner and a resident of Zone  2 in Barangay Buaya, was arrested after he handed a small pack of shabu  to a police decoy in exchange for a P200 marked money.

Police Inspector Junel Caadlawon, chief of the Pusok Police Station, said the suspect, who was new to illegal drugs trade, was arrested upon the the tip from his neighbors.

Cadlawon said that neighbors were alarmed after they became suspicious of Magkilat’s visitors in his house and this prompted them to call the attention of the police.

It was later learned during investigation that aside from selling illegal drugs, the suspect also allowed his clients to sniff shabu inside his house.

During his arrest, police were also able to seize another nine small packs of shabu but he denied owning it and he instead said that those were only planted by the police against him.

Police also seized drug paraphernalia inside his house.

At the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, the suspect admitted selling shabu three months ago after his earnings from being a public untility jeepney dispatcher could no longer feed his five children with his live-in partner.

The suspect is presently detained at the LLCPO holding cell pending the filing of an appropaite case against him.  (FREEMAN)
