3 Talisay schools win seal of good governance award

CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City council has lauded three schools for being awarded the Seal of Good Governance 2013 by the Supreme Student Government.

The Seal of Good Governance of the City of Talisay Supreme Student Government recognizes city wide supreme student government that maintains strong year-round programs. 

In a proposed resolution sponsored by Vice Mayor Alan Bucao, the proponent recognizes St. Scholastica’s Academy, Cansojong National High School, and Tapul National High School. 

“The city council finds it appropriate to pause in its deliberations and take pride and honor in acknowledging and applauding the schools for being awarded the City of Talisay Supreme Student Government Seal of Good Governance Award 2013,” Bucao said in his resolution. 

Bucao said the Seal of Good Governance of the City of Talisay Supreme Student Government allows the improvement of school climate by encouraging and involving students to have a voice in school and community affairs. 

“It encourages civic engagement, promote service and service learning and provide activities in which all students can participate,” Bucao added. 

The seal advances the primacy of performance, strong leadership program that meets their council goals, functions in ethical and responsible ways, engages in leadership, spirit, civic, and service activities. (FREEMAN)
