Russian nat'l loses wallet to pickpocket

 CEBU, Philippines - A Russian national yesterday went to the Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) to report that her wallet was picked while she was traveling on a jeepney at the Reclamation Area in Mandaue City on her way to Parkmall from Lapu-Lapu City.

Toropit Cyna Liubov, 27, married, of Pezun, Russia, is temporarily residing at Cleverlyn Residence in Lapu-Lapu City.

Liubov, enrolled as an English as Secondary Language (ESL) student in a school in Cebu City, told police yesterday that onboard the jeepney, a man that sat beside her dropped a coin.

She said she picked up the coin and gave it to the man.

At Parkmall, she discovered her wallet was gone and with it her money amounting to 3,200,7,000 rubles, HK$170, and P2,000.

Theft and Robbery Section chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said she was shown the Rogues Gallery.

Liubov pointed to someone from the gallery but can’t say she was sure it was the man that sat beside her. (FREEMAN)
