MANILA, Philippines - Widus International Leisure, Inc. announced the appointment of Jonathan Nowell as the new general manager of Widus Hotel and Casino in Clark, Pampanga.
Nowell, a 59-year-old British national, is a veteran international hotelier with 40 years of experience.
Prior to joining Widus, Nowell was vice president at Ikon Hospitality Management Company in Yangon, Myanmar where he oversaw its thrust into the country’s budding hotel market. He also had significant stints with international chains Hyatt Hotels and Hilton Worldwide.
Nowell will oversee the hotel’s $100-million expansion, which includes the impending construction of a third tower that will more than double current room capacity.
He is also in charge of the daily operations and overall performance of Widus Hotel, the only deluxe property in the Clark Freeport and part of an integrated leisure complex that includes a 50-table casino and a 700-sqm convention center.
