The Shang celebrates dads with music and art

MANILA, Philippines - Celebrate the joys of fatherhood as Shangri-La Plaza makes Father’s Day extra special with a series of music and art events.

The Saturday Group, one of Manila’s longest active arts group, holds a weekend painting session at the East Atrium on June 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. Learn from the best, and witness firsthand the talents of this Filipino arts group.

Don’t miss “Konsyerto: A Musical Celebration of Independence” featuring Diwa de Leon, Escape C and Jeff Pagaduan on June 14, 6 p.m. at the Grand Atrium. De Leon became one of the biggest underground artists in the country when he launched the Hegalong Project on his YouTube channel, where he attempts to blend the hegalong, a traditional two-stringed instrument, with electronic and chill-out music, giving an ethnic sound to contemporary music.

The Executive Band performs on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Grand Atrium.

Capping off the month of June is the must-see live saxophone performance from June 21 to 23 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Grand Atrium.
