Lacson urges Pinoys: Visit tourist spots

MANILA, Philippines — As the threat of COVID-19 has lessened significantly in the country, Partido Reporma presidential bet Sen. Panfilo Lacson urged Filipinos to become local tourists again and visit the Philippines’ best spots before choosing to roam abroad.

With many areas reopening to business and a majority of Filipinos already having complete doses of the vaccine, Lacson said now was a good time to patronize the country’s tourist spots.

He admitted that he had not visited some parts of the Philippines and wishes to discover more of the hidden destinations in the country.

“I just came from Tam-awan (a tourist site in Baguio), such a beautiful village, we can see the indigenous people there and their rituals,” he said.

The three-term senator also proved in Partido Reporma’s recent sorties across the country that despite being 73 years old, he seemed stronger than people younger than him during a hike in Tam-awan.

“My companions were surprised that I managed to walk straight to the top, and saw for ourselves the great scenery from the view deck,” the former chief of the Philippine National Police said.

Lacson also called on the government to continue protecting and improving the country’s tourism hotspots and prevent overdevelopment from ruining their natural beauty.
