Higher oil prices seen this week
MANILA, Philippines — Consumers can expect another round of price increases on fuel products ahead of the New Year as Unioil forecast prices to go up this week.
“Diesel should go up by P0.45 to P0.55. Gasoline should go up by P0.85 to P0.95,” it said.
This would be the third consecutive week the prices for diesel were raised. Last week, it went up by P1.15 per liter while that of kerosene rose by P1.10 per liter.
The increases brought the year-to-date adjustments to stand at a net increase of P6.47 per liter for gasoline, P4.91 per liter for diesel and P1.71 per liter for kerosene.
In the past trading week, global oil prices soared to a three-month high over hopes on resolving the trade dispute between the US and China and Russia signifying its cooperation with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to continue supply cuts.
