Cops, soldiers, PCG personnel get 20% bus fare discount
MANILA, Philippines — Uniformed personnel who are on active duty will get a 20-percent discount in all city and provincial public utility buses, the Department of Transportation said Monday.
Active personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police and Philippine Coast Guard will now be able to avail 20 percent discount on bus fares beginning February 11, Monday.
This, after the DOTr, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and 13 bus companies signed a memorandum of agreement Monday.
Uniformed men only need to present a valid ID as proof of active service to enjoy the fare discount.

DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade said the special privilege of fare discounts to uniformed personnel is a way of “giving back to our soldiers, policemen and Coast Guard servicemen who secure our nation and protect the Filipino people.”
“We owe the peace and order and national security of our country to their inspiring service,” he added.
