Go reminds supporters: Our purpose is to serve

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Former special assistant to the President and aspiring senator Christopher “Bong” Go has reminded government officials and supporters to never forget the reason behind their desire to serve in the government.

“For those us working in government, our purpose is to serve our fellow Filipinos,” Go said.

The former top aide issued the statement last Thursday while attending the Ugnayan sa Barangay event held in Amadeo, Cavite. Ugnayan sa Barangay is a series of events organized by the provincial government of Cavite to connect government figures and luminaries with communities all over the province.

Go acknowledged that Filipinos deserve honest and sincere service and reminded government officials present in Cavite the advice given by President Duterte.

“He told me, ‘Bong, the welfare of our people always comes first’,” Go said.

Go also thanked his supporters for backing him in his advocacies. He urged supporters to remember what President Duterte has been fighting for – a better Philippines for the next generation.

Go is pushing for measures that aim to protect the youth from the influence of illegal drugs, criminality and corruption. To prevent the youth from being corrupted by such negative influences, he advocates improvements in education and long-term sports development to teach the youth discipline and sportsmanship and help them develop into productive citizens of the country.

Despite being a private citizen, Go said he still goes around the country to talk about his advocacies and listen to the concerns of ordinary Filipinos

A senatorial candidate in the 2019 midterm elections, Go has a legislative agenda which covers topics such as agriculture, housing, improved health service delivery, education, long-term sports development, localized peace talks, anti-drug and crime drive, anti-corruption drive, barangay welfare, creation of a Department of OFWs, as well as senior citizen concerns.

Go assured Amadeo residents and Cavite government officials that he and President Duterte are there to help them.
