Tourism Usec. Katherine de Castro moves to IBC board
MANILA, Philippines — Department of Tourism Undersecretary Katherine de Castro was appointed as a member of the board of directors of Intercontinental Broadcasting Corp. (IBC-13), forcing her out of the DOT.
Malacañang released yesterday De Castro’s appointment papers dated Aug. 20 and duly signed by President Duterte.
Duterte has appointed Edwin Enrile to replace De Castro as DOT undersecretary.
De Castro, earlier placed on floating status by new Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, was among the appointees of sacked tourism secretary Wanda Teo.
De Castro did not file a courtesy resignation despite Puyat’s request to all appointees of her predecessor.
De Castro, a stepdaughter of former vice president and ABS-CBN news anchor Noli de Castro, will serve the unexpired term of Manolito Cruz that began on July 1 this year and will end on June 30 next year.
On the ranks of the Philippine National Police, Duterte has approved the recommendation for promotion to two-star rank of Chief Supt. Lurimer Detran; and to senior superintendent of Superintendents Carlito Abriz, Joseph Bayan and Salbino Piad.
